In winters cold and cough is the common problem suffered by most of them. Though winters are being welcomed by all, this season is being liked by all. This is the best time when people go out to have a cup of hot tea along with friends and colleagues. But people tend to forget in this season where there is a lot of bacteria in air.
We may take antibiotics for relief from cold but its always suggested to avoid antibiotics in routine, it may harm you more than a cure. Home remedies for cold is the best solution for this.
Take a glass of milk in a bowl and mix a 1 tsp of turmeric and set it to boil. when the quantity of milk becomes half, one can mix pinch of sugar along with also.
Now take the strainer and strain the milk and its ready to be consumed. Have this twice a day, Once in the morning and once in the night before going to bed.
Ginger and Honey Juice
If you don’t like milk much and you want to get cured from cold then try this juice which is said to be a perfect curing agent for cold.
To make this juice grate the ginger. Take a muslin cloth, put the grated ginger in to it, carefully wrap the muslin cloth and squeeze the grated ginger. Droplet of juice will strain out from the Muslin cloth. Pour the mixture into the strainer. The juice should be in the quantity which should be able to be consumed for 2/3 days.
Now mix honey in the equal quantity and pour this juice in glass bottle. Take 2 tbls daily thrice a day. and do not forget to take this before sleep. Avoid drinking water after consuming this, one can gargle it if one wants.
In rainy season one tends to get wet in rain very often and catches cold. In this situation Basil Decoct is very helpful in getting cured from cold.
To make this, Just take 10/12 leaves from Holy Basil plant. Crush it in mortar and pestle. Now boil the water and add the mashed Basil in to it. Let it boil for 5 Minutes.
Strain it and consume it when little lukewarm.
Jaggery in the Night
Cough/Chest congestion is a common ailment in cold season, Consuming a piece of jaggery in the night before sleep is very helpful in getting away from this. ( This is to be consumed only in winters and not summers).
Raisins are like magical thing for the treatment of cold. but they should not be consumed raw, it should be heated on a pan by adding pinch of salt in it.
It will not only maintain the taste buds of your mouth but will also be helpful in viral infection and sore throat.
