A grilled Cottage Cheese sandwich is liked by all, in fact since our college days, it was our daily snack in the evening to fill up the stomach till we reach home. Grilled cabbage and cottage cheese sandwich is an ultimate snack item.

Grilled cabbage and cottage cheese sandwich is an ultimate snack item with a hot cup of tea/coffee in the evenings. It’s a heavy snack if made with lots of butter and cream. But I usually avoid those fats and go easy and low-fat one, after all, who wants to add more pounds to the body.

Firstly make your green mint chutney and keep aside.

Ingredients 

  • 100 grams Cottage Cheese grated
  • 1/2 small Cabbage grated
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
  • Butter as required
  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Red chili powder
  • 2/3 Green chilies finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chutney 4 tablespoons
  • Chaat masala 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon
  • 1/2 tsp of oregano

Method

Divide all the spices into two equal parts.

Let’s make the filling first, combine the ingredients, cabbage, cottage cheese, coriander leaves, Oregano, Kashmiri red chili powder, green chilies, salt, lemon juice and chaat masala in a bowl.

In another bowl add grated cottage cheese and mix all the remaining spices in and mix well.

Butter all the bread slices (Butter side facing upside) and apply some fresh green coriander chutney on it, now fill the fillings and close the top with another bread slice with butter and chutney on both the sides.

Apply some cottage cheese mixture and close this with only buttered slice and put in a grill.Apply butter on the outer surface of each sandwich and grill in sandwich griller or toaster till done. Serve hot.
